TechVision has proposed developing a solution to automate diagnostics – the dental platform should help patients find the best matching clinic & doctor and partially undertake the functions of a general dentist:
- ✓ Conduct the case questionnaire necessary for identifying the cause of a patient’s condition and the required therapy
- ✓ Gather the required client information essential for further treatment (both text & photo)
- ✓ Based on the gathered case data, determine the possibility of this or that diagnosis and the case urgency, and create the comprehensive data report as an output.
- ✓ Based on the output report data, location & patient insurance type, recommend the most suitable & budget-friendly clinic and dentist to consider consulting.
Thus, in TechVision, we have created a user-friendly web dental app for patients with a mobile design that allows users to easily access the platform from their desktop or mobile devices, no matter where they are, at any time. This app is designed for people who need help deciding which dental specialist to consult for their medical appointment regarding dental problems.
The dental appointment app includes an interactive questionnaire, where users respond to a series of questions about their symptoms to determine the likelihood of specific dental issues, offering users guidance with clear instructions on the next steps. Based on the questionnaire, the app then provides recommendations for the type of dental specialist they should consider consulting, such as a general dentist, orthodontist, periodontist, etc. Additionally, the dental assistant app offers contact information for recommended clinics and specialists nearby.
Users can filter these recommendations based on ZIP code/location and the types of insurance the clinics accept. Users also better understand their symptoms and whether they need urgent attention.
In the latest version, the app also features AI-powered photo analysis: It allows users to take a photo of their dental issue, which the AI then analyzes to identify possible problems such as discoloration, swollen gums, teeth spots, etc. The photo analysis provides additional probabilities for different diagnoses based on the photo, serving as an extra step in the questionnaire.
Users can also search for trusted and verified clinics using location filters without passing the questionnaire. The app includes an admin panel that allows administrators to add clinics and their information.
We made sure to build a dental app that was developed using an agile methodology, ensuring iterative improvements and gathering client feedback at every stage – from ideation, business analysis, and design creation to development and launch. Before launching the application, we conducted extensive end-to-end testing to ensure its accuracy in recommendations and user-friendliness. The most complex part of the project was the customizable questionnaire, which required logical connections to provide accurate recommendations.
